Swenson’s recognized by Reader’s Digest has having the top burger in Ohio
A May story from the Reader’s Digest listed the top hamburgers in each of the 50 states and an Ohio burger chain with an outlet in Boardman made the grade for the Buckeye State.
Swensons Drive-In, an Akron area staple with a restaurant located on Boardman-Poland Road near the Interstate 680 interchange in Boardman, had the honor of being named by Reader’s Digest as having the top hamburger in Ohio. Here’s what the story said about Swensons’ Galley Boy, shown at left:
“You’d be hard-pressed to find someone in Ohio who hasn’t tried a Galley Boy from Swensons Drive-In. This double-patty burger is served on a buttery toasted bun with cheese and two secret sauces. Though the popular drive-in (with multiple locations across the state) has never shared what exactly those secret sauces are, they best resemble tartar sauce and barbecue sauce. The burger is finished off with a signature olive on a toothpick for a recognizable flair.”
