Why Hubbard and Hubbard Township property owners will see their taxes go up this year
Hubbard Township and Hubbard city property owners will see an increase in their tax bill for the second half of 2024 due on Sept. 9.
According to a report from the Trumbull County Auditor’s Office, a miscalculation in the school district levy tax rate shows that property owners in the city and township have underpaid their first half 2024 tax obligations.
The report stated the amount not collected in Hubbard is about $190 per $100,000 in property value. Township officials indicated they will be looking into how the miscalculation came about. County auditor spokespersons said the miscalculation came from their office.
The 9,500 Hubbard taxpayers affected will get an extension of the payment deadline because of the error. Usually second-half property tax payments are made in August.
