New study shows 1 in 3 divorced Ohio dads will not spend Father’s Day with their children
A new study was published showing that about 34% of divorced dads in Ohio will not be spending Father’s Day with their children.
The study, conducted by California-based photo book company Mixbook, surveyed 3,000 divorced fathers from across the U.S. The participants were chosen by Mixbook to be a geographically representative population sample.
The results found that across the nation, 1 in 5 divorced fathers will not spend Father’s Day with their children nationwide. The results were higher with 1 in 3 divorced fathers specific to Ohio responding they will not spend Father’s Day with their children.
Among the divorced fathers who will miss Father’s Day with their kids, about half reported the challenges of missing important moments in their children’s lives. Brunch with kids was also listed as the most popular way they would like to spend Father’s Day, according to the survey.
Divorced fathers also reported emotional distress from being away from their kids during significant days like Father’s Day.
