Youngstown police help man off the edge of a cliff but say the man responded with threats
A man’s car was hanging off the edge of a cliff before Youngstown police officers were able assist him out of the car according to reports, which added that the man threatened an officer’s life.
The man was in his Honda Accord as it was partially hanging off the edge of a cliff on East Woodland Avenue. Youngstown police responded to reports of the car and arrived shortly after.
Officers guided the suspect to climb over to the passenger’s seat and exit the car so as not to shift the weight of the vehicle, according to the police report. An officer then attempted to pat the suspect down for any weapons.
The suspect got very upset after the officer initiated the pat-down, yelling insults like “I’ll beat your ass,” and even threatening to anally rape the officer’s daughter, according to the report. which added the suspect also yelled that the officer would be “dead before tomorrow.”
The report stated that the suspect had told the officer not to touch his pockets and started to become upset after the officer continued the pat-down search. The suspect reportedly also started acting physically aggressive.
He was subsequently arrested and accused of Aggravated Menacing and transported to the Mahoning County Justice Center.
