The Golden Run Wildlife Area, a boat launch and public hiking area next to the Shenango River Reservoir, was closed while police investigated the area.

Police said partial human remains were found in the Shenango River Reservoir in Clark, Pennsylvania.

The remains were identified by the Mercer County Coroner’s Office.

Coroner John Libonati said it’s unclear how long the human remains were in the water prior to being found at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

It’s also too early to determine their cause and manner of death.

Hermitage police have closed off the entrance to the area Lake Road and North Neshannock Road.

Libonati said more search and rescue crews with the Mercer County Emergency Management Agency were searching for additional human remains and evidence for the police’s investigation but “recovery efforts are currently suspended until further notice.”
