Sherrod Brown holds meeting in Youngstown with those impacted by Realty Building explosion
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown hosted a roundtable Monday with government officials, businesses, workers and residents of downtown Youngstown who have been negatively affected by the May 28 Realty Building explosion.
Brown and residents discussed the ongoing recovery efforts.
“Youngstown has been knocked down before, but anyone who knows the Valley knows the resilience in this city,” said Brown. “I know the people in this room are dedicated to doing what it takes to recover from this. I’m here to listen, and to talk about anything we might be able to do at the federal level to support you.”
Demolition of the Realty Building is slated to begin on Thursday.
