Yemeni immigrants will share their stories and experiences immigrating to the U.S. in an event hosted by the Mahoning Valley Cultural Alliance.

This is a part of the organization’s upcoming Stories of Mahoning Valley Immigrants series that celebrates the rich diversity of cultures within the Mahoning Valley.

The Cultural Alliance invited Dr. Rashid Abdu, a native of Yemen and retired surgeon to share his life story from Yemen to the Mahoning Valley. There will also be a traditional Middle Eastern dance performed by Heather Abrams, a professional belly dancer.

The event will take place 5 p.m. Aug. 5 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The cost to attend is $35 for Mahoning Valley Historical Society members, and $40 for non-members. A meal will be provided by A La Cart.

Reservations are required and must be made before the deadline on July 30.
