A recent study shows that anxiety levels in Ohio are up by 5% over the past five years.

A Mission for Michael, a mental health treatment organization, recently conducted a study measuring anxiety levels in each state across America.

The organization conducted a comprehensive study to analyze anxiety and stress levels over the past five years to determine if Americans are becoming more or less anxious. It used data from the County Health Rankings and identified specific counties experiencing significant changes during this period.

Ohio ranks thirteenth overall according to the table compiled by AMFM’s survey. It is also important to note that 22 other states were shown to have a 5% rise in anxiety levels. Louisiana topped the ranking with a 7% increase.

Holmes, Ohio residents were shown to have experienced the greatest rise in anxiety levels with an 8% increase. On the other hand Delaware, Ohio and Hamilton, Ohio have the least increase in anxiety levels at 3%.

Despite Ohio’s anxiety levels increasing, the study also shows that the Northeast region of the U.S. showed the lowest increase in mental distress over the five years, with a change of 4.5%.
