YSU music student wins gold medal at International Euphonium, Tuba Festival

Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music is proud to announce that student Ryan Lamb has won the gold medal at the highly competitive Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival.
The event, renowned for attracting the finest brass musicians from around the globe, took place from August 9-12 at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.
Ryan, a second-year student pursuing a degree in Music Performance degree in the Dana School of Music, competed against an elite field of musicians in the festival’s Euphonium Division.
His outstanding performance in both the preliminary and final rounds captured the attention of the judges, ultimately earning him the top prize.
“This award is a testament to Ryan’s exceptional musicianship, hard work, and dedication to his craft,” said Dr. Joe Carucci, Director of YSU’s Dana School of Music. “We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and the way he has represented our school on an international stage.”
The Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival, held annually, is one of the most prestigious events of its kind, offering young musicians a platform to perform, learn, and grow under the mentorship of world-class performers and educators. Winning the gold medal is not only an extraordinary personal achievement for Ryan, but it also brings significant recognition to YSU’s music program.
