Here’s how organizers plan to celebrate 150 years at Mahoning Valley Historical Society

It’s been 150 years of preserving and compiling archives for Mahoning Valley Historical Society members, and this weekend, they’re celebrating with a Founder’s Day Open House.

The open house is happening from noon - 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Tyler History Center in Youngstown.

There’s no charge for admission for the Founder’s Day Open House, which includes a history fair with organizations from Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties.

Guests can go on walking tours at the Tyler History Center and grab a sweet treat from Good Humor Ice Cream.

Visit the Tyler History Center at 325 W Federal St. in Youngstown.

The Arms Family Museum will be closed Sept. 8.
