What does it mean for Arms Family Museum, Tyler History Center to be ‘Museums For All’?
The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is celebrating joining a program to help more residents in Ohio impacted by poverty be able to visit the museums in the area.
What does Museum for All mean?
Museums for All is a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Association of Children’s Museums.
The goal is to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.
The program supports those receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits visiting Arms Family Museum and Tyler History Center for a minimal fee of $1 per person, up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer card.
More than 850 museums nationwide participate in ‘Museums For All.’
Museums for All helps expand access to museums and also raise public awareness about how museums in the U.S. are reaching their entire communities, according to the historical society.
