Newsweek released their 2024 list of the top 100 places to work in the U.S., and for the second year in a row, one Mahoning Valley-based business made the cut.

Scott Fleming, president of Aim Transportation Solutions, said some of the industries Aim has specialized in include manufacturing, food, beverage, steel and aluminum.

Tom Fleming founded Aim in Girard in 1982 which has grown into the largest, privately-owned truck leasing company in North America.

The father-son duo operate the business together, with Scott as president and Tom as CEO and chairman.

They said Aim Transportation Services handles 100 different operations and services over 11,000 vehicles throughout the U.S.

Aim’s headquarters are in Youngstown, but they’ve expanded to locations in Girard, Akron and Garfield Heights, and have customers in various regions of the country.

“To earn this recognition once is an amazing honor,” said Scott Fleming. “To earn it two years in a row, that says Aim is truly special, a place where people enjoy coming to work because they know they’re appreciated and supported.”

Scott Fleming said a main motto for his family-owned and operated company starts by looking out for one another.

“At Aim, we’ve long believed that in order to take care of our customers, we must first take care of our employees,” Scott Fleming said. “This achievement is a direct reflection of our dedication to that belief, and Aim continues to thrive as a national brand because our drivers’, mechanics’ and office staff’s unwavering commitment to making Aim a welcoming, inclusive, supportive career destination.”

To create this list, Newsweek partners with the Best Practice Institute to survey more than two million employees across companies of various sizes, anywhere from 50 to 100,000 employees.

They looked at how engaged employees are at work, their overall workplace satisfaction and commitment to company success.
