Mahoning County animal shelter prepares for annual 3-day garage sale, seeks volunteers
Are you passionate about animals and have some extra time on your hands to help out at a local animal shelter?
Angels for Animals is taking applications for full-time and part-time kennel staff members, as well as volunteers to help out at the upcoming annual garage sale event.
The Angels for Animals garage sale is a tradition that’s been going on for 31 years.
The three-day garage event starts at 9 a.m. on April 11 through April 13 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

For the garage sale, community members can drop off donated items starting April 5 and April 6 at the Canfield Fairgrounds to support Angels for Animals.
Coordinators are asking for items that are clean, ready to sell and donated clothing brought on hangers or folded in boxes.
“Your giveaway items could be someone else’s treasures, and bring in much needed donations to Angels,” the organization wrote.
In addition to volunteers for the event, the animal shelter is also looking for volunteers to walk dogs at the animals shelter during the week and full-time and part-time kennel staff.
“We are looking for caring, dependable candidates that would have our animals’ best interest at heart at all times,” Angels for Animals wrote. “We offer medical, vision, dental, long/short term disability, life insurances as well as AFLAC coverage. We also have our 401k matching program available after 90 days.”
