Youngstown supermarket site on South Avenue sold for $875,000
The site of a former grocery store in Boardman Township has been sold to a new owner, according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s online records.
The Sparkle Market at 4121 South Ave. closed in the early summer of 2025.
Dearing Compressor and Pump Co. purchased the 26,064-square-foot property for $875,000 on March 5 from Gagco Realty Co.
The supermarket was first built in 1963 and sits on 1.4 acres on South Avenue in Boardman Township.
Customers went to Sparkle Market for essentials for over seven decades.
