East Palestine pool on track to open around Memorial Day 2026
Last summer, construction crews began the second phase of a $25 million park revitalization project in East Palestine, focusing on making an exciting aquatic center for the community.
The new East Palestine park pool is on track to reopen to the public during Memorial Day weekend.
The official opening day hasn’t been released just yet because there’s still some gas line work that needs to be completed.
The East Palestine park pool will be open to everyone, and the fireworks display is returning to the park for the annual Fourth of July celebrations.
The village is officially accepting applications for lifeguards, ticket booth attendants and concession stand workers through April 15 at 4 p.m. The applications with lifeguard class information are available at 85 North Market St. in East Palestine.
The park is still open during the last few phases of the pool construction, and visitors can access the walking trails, sand volleyball courts, park pond, pavilions, and disc golf course.
The pool and pool playground are staying closed while construction wraps up.
The third phase of the revitalization project will focus on the park playground. The new playground is expected to be ready for a 2027 grand opening, according to the April issue of the city’s monthly newsletter.
According to the newsletter, the two bathroom buildings at the park will also be replaced, and the pool building will have an external bathroom available to use.
More bathrooms will be replaced as part of the ongoing project.
The reimagined playground will have obstacle-course elements and a wooden playset with features that are accessible and inclusive, according to the newsletter.
