56 animals rescued from “unimaginable conditions” in Trumbull County

In the span of four days, 56 animals were rescued from “unimaginable living conditions”, according to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.

The humane agents with AWL took in 22 dogs, 27 cats, three guinea pigs and four chickens.

The AWL protects animals who are neglected, abandoned, sick, injured and abused in Trumbull County.

Behind the scenes, the AWL team is answering cruelty calls and rescuing animals from dangerous situations, as well as providing medical care, feeding hungry mouths, cleaning kennels, comforting frightened animals, and preparing them for brighter futures.

“The reality is that this work comes at a cost,” AWL posted on social media. “As a non-profit organization, we receive no government funding. Every bag of food, every medical treatment, every blanket, every kennel and every second chance is made possible by the support of our community.”
