What’s on the table for Thanksgiving weather in the Mahoning Valley this year?
It’s been unseasonably warm in the Mahoning Valley so it makes sense that we would root for a cool autumnal Thanksgiving in 2024
We can look at long-range forecasts all we want, but Ohio weather is notoriously unpredictable. That being said, we can study historical data and look to current predictions to get a general idea of what the weather might be like on Turkey Day.
Thanksgiving is on the 28th this year, and the end of November is typically a little chilly. This year could deviate from that with warmer than we’re used to during the day.
AccuWeather’s extended forecast shows a high temperature of 52 degrees and a low of 38 degrees for Thanksgiving, with a little chance of rain. The Farmer’s Almanac makes a similar prediction.
Aside from some thick cloud cover, there’s no severe weather predicted for Thanksgiving, but of course we can’t rule it out completely. The most severe weather the Valley has experienced on Thanksgiving Day was in 1950, when a major snowstorm dumped 29 inches of snow in some areas.
