MIKE BROWN: Alliance head boys basketball coach Sean Weatherspoon heads home to Canton McKinley

Alliance head boys basketball coach Sean Weatherspoon, who led the Aviators to the Eastern Buckeye Conference title and a spot in the Division II district semifinal game, is going home again.

Weatherspoon has been named as the new head boys basketball coach at Canton McKinley.

Weatherspoon was a basketball star at McKinley, leading the Bulldogs to the 2005 state title.

He will be taking over a tradition-rich McKinley program, one of the most iconic in the Buckeye State.

He was the head coach at Alliance for just one year but led the Aviators to a 15-9 record this past season. Their campaign ended in the Division II district semifinals at Boardman when they dropped an 84-76 overtime decision to the Youngstown Chaney Cowboys.
