MIKE BROWN: Alliance adds new all-turf softball field

Youngstown-area softball teams that travel to Alliance to play games this spring will notice a big addition to the Aviators’ playing surface at Union Title Field.

Alliance installed a new all-turf baseball field two months ago.

Now the school has added one of the few all-turf softball fields in northeastern Ohio.

A ceremony dedicating the new softball field was held recently at Alliance High School.

The infield field turf is brown and outfield field turf is green.

There’s little doubt having an all-turf softball field will likely attract future interest from the OHSAA for upcoming tournaments in a state-of-the-art facility.
