Where to find Ohio State and the Big 10 college football on TV this season
Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jenny Dell have been booked to call the Ohio State-Indiana Big Ten football opener on CBS-TV at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 2.
CBS has been contracted to handle a limited number of Big Ten games this season as they still maintain a full SEC grid slate.
CBS will take on the Big Ten full time in 2024 when the four West Coast teams -- USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington – join the conference.
Meanwhile, CBS may get to air one other Ohio State game -- later in the year when the Buckeyes travel to New Jersey to play Rutgers on Nov. 4.
Fox to air 5 Ohio State games this season
The Fox network is scheduled to air five Buckeyes games this season, including the annual season-ending grudge match versus Michigan. This year, the game will be in Ann Arbor with kickoff at noon on Nov. 25. Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt are the main announcing team for Big Ten games on Fox.
NBC slated to air 3 Ohio State games
The Peacock network – NBC-TV – also joins the Big Ten conference television package and is expected to air three Buckeye prime time games – on Sept. 23 at Notre Dame, on Oct. 28 at Wisconsin and a Nov. 11 (Veteran’s Day) home game at the Horseshoe vs. Michigan State.
Peacock to carry Ohio State vs. Rutgers game
Another game – the Oct. 7 Maryland contest in Columbus — is scheduled for its Peacock streaming service only which has the Buckeyes fans in a tizzy, needing to purchase the app to view this one game.
Added to the NBC studio broadcast team this season is former Buckeye linebacker Joshua Perry. Announcing the primetime games for NBC are Noah Eagle (son of Ian Eagle) and former Penn State quarterback Todd Blackledge.
Big Ten Network to carry two Ohio State games
The Big Ten Network will air two Buckeyes games in 2023, including the Sept. 9 noon kickoff at the Horseshoe versus the Youngstown State Penguins.
This is a rare football season where the Buckeyes only have six scheduled games at the Horseshoe in Columbus.
Meanwhile, NBC and its Peacock app have filled out the rest of its announcing teams for the upcoming college football season. Remember, NBC still carries Notre Dame home football games.
Mike Tirico, Chris Simms and Lewis Johnson will call NBC Sports’ Big Ten football debut on the Peacock network for the Michigan-East Carolina on Sept. 2 at noon from the Big House in Ann Arbor. Eagle, Blackledge and Kathryn Tappen will call the Big Ten Saturday night opener in Happy Valley between Penn State and West Virginia at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 which will be carried on both NBC and Peacock.
Bendan Burke, Paul Burmeister, Andrew Siciliano, Michael Robinson, Kyle Rudolph, Anthony Herron, Caroline Pineda and Perry will fill out the commentary teams for Big Ten football games.
Notre Dame football will feature the team of Jac Collinsworth, Jason Garrett and Zora Stephenson, beginning with the Irish’s game against Navy in Ireland on Aug. 26 at 2:30 p.m. on both NBC and Peacock.
Collinsworth, Garrett and Stephenson also slated to call select Big Ten football games.
Nicole Auerbach joins NBC Sports as lead college football insider, appearing on B1G College Countdown and across college football programming on NBC Sports platforms. Terry McAulay and Reggie Smith will serve as college football rules analysts on NBC.
