Antuan Gardner wins Mahoning Valley football Athlete of the Week for Oct. 2

Antuan Gardner of Niles won the Week 7 honor of Mahoning Matters football Athlete of the Week poll.

This was Gardner’s third win of the season.

He ran for 187 yards on 28 carries and caught a touchdown for Niles in a 28-14 loss to Poland.

Here were the other nominees.

Cole Fulton: Ran for 211 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries to lead Poland past Niles 28-14.
Antuan Gardner: Ran for 187 yards on 28 carries and caught a touchdown for Niles in a 28-14 loss to Poland.
Tristan Toy: Recorded 109 passing yards and a touchdown through the air and added three rushing touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Girard.
Naujeat Jones: Caught five passes for 179 yards and touchdowns for Harding in a 38-20 win over Boardman.
Chaz Coleman: Threw for 219 yards for Harding in a 38-20 win over Boardman.
Davin Derry: Scored four touchdowns for LaBrae in a 43-33 win over Brookfield.
Rico Smith: Scored four touchdowns for Brookfield in a 43-33 loss to LaBrae.
Boston Mulinix: Ran for 197 yards and four touchdowns, including a 99-yard score in West Branch’s 56-0 win over Marlington.
Beau Alazaus: Threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns in West Branch’s 56-0 win over Marlington.
