Poland defense dominates Lakeview in 28-0 win

Poland proved to be the alpha in the battle of the Bulldogs, using defense to dominate Lakeview 28-0 at home to improve to 8-1 on the season.

The smothering defense of Poland imposed its will on Lakeview’s offense all game., by only allowing the visiting Bulldogs to cross midfield on three occasions for the entire game.

“Defensively they played their tails off,” said Poland coach Tom Pavlansky, “we had a good week of practice, played hard and beat a good football team tonight. I’m real proud of them.”

Cole Fulton scores twice to open scoring

Poland jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on two touchdown runs by running back Cole Fulton, from 6 yards and 47 yards out respectively.

Quarterback Dom Pagano threw for the other two touchdowns, one in each half. The first came on a 34 yard throw to senior wide out Andrew Todd with thirty-nine seconds left in the second quarter.

The cherry on top of the Poland victory came with 6:08 to play in the game. Pagano hit tight end Oliver McCulyy on a 19 yard strike to finish out the scoring.

Poland will be at home in a big conference matchup against the 7-2 Struthers Wildcats next week, while Lakeview will look to rebound in a non-conference game against Beaver in Lisbon.
