West Branch, Howland top Mahoning Valley girls’ basketball rankings

West Branch and Howland are 1-2 in this week’s mahoningmatters.com Super 7 girls’ basketball poll.
West Branch
Before Thursday’s loss to Olmsted Falls, No. 1 West Branch has rolled to a 9-0 record and the closest an opponent has been to the Warriors is Louisville which lost by 13.
West Branch was giving up just 26.5 ppg, the best defensive mark in the area.
Howland
No. 2 Howland has put together an impressive 7-1 mark and its only loss has been to unbeaten state power Akron Hoban which is 8-0 on the season.
The Tigers play a big game Friday when they host powerful Louisville.
Crestview
No. 3 Crestview has also been dominant while rolling to a 10-0 record. They are coming off a 51-36 win over Salem.
Boardman
No. 4 Boardman is 5-2 on the season and the Spartans’ only losses have been to Federal League power Lake as well as Aurora.
Canfield
No. 5 Canfield is 4-3 but is still a very dangerous team in Division II. The Cardinals have played an awesome schedule. The Cardinals are only giving up 33.7 ppg.
Springfield Local
No. 6 Springfield Local is 7-2 on the season and is leading the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Division with a 5-0 record.
Warren JFK
No. 7 Warren JFK is 7-2 on the season and coming off a one-sided win over Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference power United Local.
