The streaking South Range Raiders handled business on the road in Hubbard to improve to 10-4 on the season by beating the Eagles 79-46 on Friday night.

The Raiders started hot, scoring on their first five possessions of the game and using two big runs to get out to a twelve point first quarter lead. Their advantage would balloon to 19 at halftime.

“We came out and shot the ball pretty well, got out to a fast start,” said South Range head coach Patrick Carden, “and we were able to keep that going for the rest of the game.”

Hubbard would cut their deficit to 13 midway through the third quarter, but that’s as close as they would get as it was the Raiders’ night.

South Range finished with four players in double figures

South Range had four players score in double figures, led by seniors Dylan Turvey with 23 and Landon Moore with 18. Moore did the majority of his damage in the first half, scoring 13 of his 18 before the break.

Turvey took over the game in the fourth quarter, starting with a personal 8-2 run to stretch the lead to 21 with six minutes left. He would end up with 13 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, including 3 of his 5 made 3-pointers.

South Range will try to extend their winning streak to five games when they face Poland at home on Tuesday night. Hubbard will also play at home on Tuesday, after falling to 8-8 on the season, and will host Salem.
