Beaver Local’s standout senior quarterback Austin Cline has committed to continuing his academic and football career with the University of Dayton Flyers.

Dayton is a Division I Football Championship Subdivision member and plays in the Pioneer League. The Flyers were 4-7 this past season.

Cline, a dynamic runner and passer for head coach Mike McKenzie’s Beavers, set numerous rushing and passing records during his tremendous career at Beaver Local. The Beavers made the playoffs every season Cline was their starting quarterback.

He initially was set to go to Carnegie Mellon but opened his recruitment back up this fall and chose Dayton from several schools that were recruiting him.

Cline, 6-3, 195 and an honor student with a 4.4 GPA, was named second team on the Ohio Prep Sports Writers All-Ohio squad this season in the Division IV ranks. He was also a first-team All-Buckeye 8 selection at quarterback on multiple occasions.
