YSU legend and former Super Bowl quarterback Ron Jaworski makes his pick for Sunday’s game
Sunday’s Super Bowl game has several Mahoning Valley ties.
For the San Francisco 49ers, owner Denise York lives in Canfield while the Eddie DeBartolo family was longtime owners of the team.
The Kansas City Chiefs have safeties coach Donald D’Alesio, who played for Cardinal Mooney and Youngstown State and also coached for the Penguins.
Now another Youngstown State legend and longtime NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski, who started for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1980 Super Bowl, has made his pick for the Big Game.
Jaworski gave the nod to the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-27. In his tweet, Jaworski showed his Kansas Chiefs jersey. He finished his career there after playing for the Eagles and Miami Dolphins.
Kansas City’s performance in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens must have changed Jaworski’s mind in Sunday’s game, after previously picking the Ravens to play the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
