Trial continues against Youngstown man charged with murder in Warren
It’s the third day of the murder trial against 26-year-old Ronique Requel of Youngstown who is charged with seven felonies, including aggravated murder.
State testimony continued from Warren detectives Frank Tempesta and Eric Laprocina.
These were the officers who processed the scene on Milton Street where Adam Sapid, 28, was shot to death on the night of a home invasion Feb. 5, 2023.
The owner of the stolen firearm that was found at the murder scene was a woman from Poland who testified during the trial.
The parole officer for Requel also testified.
The sole afternoon witness was David Miller, Ohio BCI forensic scientist who went over the DNA evidence that was found on the ballistics and one of the firearms found at the scene.
Testimony concluded shortly after 2 p.m. as Judge Andrew D. Logan dismissed the jury for the day.
The last two state witnesses, including the forensic investigator for the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner who conducted the autopsy on Spaid, are scheduled to testify tomorrow.
Testimony begins at 9 a.m. Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Courtroom No. 1 on the third floor.
