Mahoning Valley Scrappers announce promotions during 2023 season
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers have announced its promotional schedule for the 2023 season.
There will be nine post-game fireworks shows, four giveaway nights, nine specialty jersey nights and five Buck Nights.
The MLB draft league season starts at 7 p.m. June 1 at home for the Scrappers’ opening night game against West Virginia Black Bears.
Single game tickets are on sale now starting at $9. Tickets are available online at www.mvscrappers.com, by calling 330-505-0000. Get your tickets in advance as ticket prices increase $1 on the day of the game.
Here’s a look at the rest of the season’s ballpark promotions:
Scrappers Specialty Jersey series
Head out to Eastwood Field for the following five jersey nights, with auction proceeds going to local charities:
Jersey No. 1 – June 2 - Cancer Awareness Night with jersey proceeds to Mercy Health Foundation
Jersey No. 2 – June 17 – Autism Awareness Night with jersey proceeds to the Rich Center for Autism
Jersey No. 3 – July 21 – Developmental DisABILITIES Awareness Night with jersey proceeds to Fairhaven Foundation - Trumbull County, Mahoning County Board and Columbiana County Board of DD
Jersey No. 4 - August 4 – Pet Night Jersey with proceeds to Animal Welfare League. There will be a special ticket package available to get your dog’s photo included on the Scrappers jersey.
Jersey No. 5 – August 18 - Voltage Valley jersey with proceeds to the Regional Chamber Foundation
Special giveaways
There are three bobblehead giveaways, all depicting former Scrappers and sponsored by 21 WFMJ.
Get a Steven Kwan bobblehead on June 17, courtesy of Toyota of Warren; a Oscar Gonzalez bobblehead on July 22 courtesy of Iron Eagle Recycling and Guardians’ top prospect Daniel Espino on August 5 courtesy of Impression Media.
It’s also youth jersey giveaway night on June 3.
Weekly promotions
During the 2023 season, there are special food and ticket deals during home games throughout the week for Scrappers fans.
Tuesday: Senior Discount Tuesdays, 55 + fans receive half off Upper Box tickets (Shepherd of the Valley). Tickets must be purchased at the Chevy All Stars Box Office.
Also on Tuesday: $2 Slice Night at Pizza Joe’s at the main concession stands throughout the game.
Wednesday: Military Appreciation Nights, show a Military ID at the Chevy All Stars Box Office at Eastwood Field for two free upper box seat game tickets.
Wendy’s® Wednesday: fans can receive buy one get one free upper box seat tickets with a Wendy’s receipt or by showing the Wendy’s app at the Chevy All Stars Box Office.
Select Thursdays are Buck Nights, Fans pay $1 general admission tickets, hot dogs and drinks
Friday: Fireworks display after every Friday night home game
Wine Down Weekends with wine specials at the ballpark presented by Webb Winery
Sunday: Bring a donation of non-perishable food items or a new children’s book for a free General Admission ticket.
Ohio Lottery Second Chance Sunday Promotion – buy one get one free tickets with any non-winning Ohio Lottery instant ticket.
More special events
There’s a food specialty jersey game where the Scrappers will change their name for one night to fan favorite “Peppers in Oil,” sponsored by the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau’s Italian Food Trail.
That’s taking place during the game on July 31. Proceeds from this game go toward the United Way of Trumbull County.
The second food specialty jersey will be worn on August 15 when the Scrappers become the “Mahoning Valley Cookie Tables” presented by Trumbull Tourism with proceeds to Cadence Care Network. The game will feature a Wedding Expo with cookie samples and displays from wedding vendors.
It’s also Bark at the Park Night on August 4 presented by Kent State University Trumbull Vet Tech.
Impression media sponsors Bobblemania, a collection of the area’s largest bobblehead dealers coming to the ballpark on August 6.
