Warren man gets 25 years-to-life in rape case
A 43-year-old Warren man was sentenced Wednesday to a life prison sentence with his first chance at parole after serving 25 years.
Francis LaCamera of Summit Street NW was found guilty by a Trumbull County jury on Friday of all ten counts involving the sexual assault of a then 12-year-old Hubbard girl over six months in 2020.

Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Cynthia Rice made sentencing for all ten counts for LaCamera to serve simultaneously. A victim’s advocate for the Prosecutor’s Office read a prepared statement on behalf of the victim. The defendant declined to speak to the judge before the sentence was pronounced.
Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman asked the judge for consecutive sentences because of the repeated acts that lasted almost a year. Wildman also said the defendant showed no remorse for the offenses and did not accept responsibility.
Last month, jurors took more than seven hours of deliberations before returning guilty verdicts on one count of gross sexual imposition and nine counts of rape against Lacamera.
Defendant found not guilty of all ten sexually violent predator specifications
After the verdicts were read, Judge Rice found the defendant not guilty of all ten sexually violent predator specifications that would have added to his prison sentence.
Jurors listened to two days of testimony before getting the case after lunch on June 22. Among those presenting evidence were the victim, her mother, a Hubbard police detective, and representatives of the Child Advocacy Center in Boardman, who had interviewed the victim after the charges came to light in 2021.
