Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County invites community input through conversation

There’s an opportunity for the community and patrons at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County to give direct feedback and input into the future of library services and initiatives.

During scheduled feedback conversations at branch library locations, guests can share their perspectives with director and CEO Aimee Fifarek and Maggie Henderson, Strategic Communications Officer.

“Community feedback is at the heart of our strategic planning process,” said Henderson. “We want to hear from our community members about their aspirations for the library, the services they value most, and how we can best support their needs.”

What do library officials hope to learn through the sessions?

Henderson said this is an opportunity for the library and its leaders to refine goals, ensuring libraries remain an inclusive and innovative hub for lifelong learning and cultural enrichment.

In-person community input sessions started today at the East Library.

The following community input sessions are happening from 10 a.m. - noon on July 22 at Tri-Lakes Library as part of Tri-Lakes 10th Anniversary Celebration and at 2 - 4 p.m. on July 24 at the Struthers Library.

For those unable to attend the conversations in person, an online survey is available on the Library’s Strategic Planning website, where community members can contribute their thoughts and suggestions.

Paper copies of the survey are also available to pick up at local branches.
