Throwing a bullseye at the Columbiana County Fair
Axe throwing has become popular at bars in the Mahoning Valley, but did you know there’s a small business taking axe throwing on the road to Ohio fairgrounds and parties?
Scott Finnegin said his wife, Traci, owns Grab That Axe, a mobile axe-throwing company managed from their hometown of Homeworth.
They’ll bring up to three trailers and all the axe-throwing supplies to events, community fairs, and many private corporate parties.
“It’s a great stress reliever,” said Scott. “We have three axe throwing trailers, one mini golf and we hold foam rave parties. We do a lot of corporate parties and residential parties...They love the axe throwing for stress reliever.”
Scott said according to what state officials have told him, Grab That Axe is the only axe-throwing business permitted to operate at county fairs in Ohio.
There are two lanes in each trailer with two targets. The lanes are separated and reinforced with metal to keep participants safe.
It’s $5 for five throws and $10 for 12 throws. You’ll win a prize if you get three bullseyes in your first five throws.
“People should come check it out because it’s fun, it’s relatively cheap and you can win some prizes,” said Scott.
They also have nine holes of mini golf right next to the axe-throwing trailer that you can play as long as you want.
Grab That Axe is available for upcoming parties. They can do axe throwing, mini golf, and foam parties for any event.
Stop by Grab That Axe at the fair and visit their website for more information about services.
