U.S. Marshals Service also looking for Youngstown woman who escaped from Lisbon facility
UPDATE Aug. 8 - Youngstown woman was only at Lisbon center for several days before escaping, director said
The Youngstown branch of the U.S. Marshals Service is now assisting in the search for a Youngstown resident who reportedly escaped from a Lisbon correctional center on Saturday, according to Lisbon Police Detective Neil Clark.
Police said a witness told them Ashley Croley, 37, said “she hopped a fence” around 5 p.m. Saturday. Once she left the facility, she walked a block up the street, where she reportedly stole a Chevy Cobolt blue in color with license plate No. JLU4699 from a customer at an East of Chicago Pizza location and ran over his foot when leaving the parking lot.
Clark said the victim was ok,
Police say Croley is 5-foot-5-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes. They believe she was wearing an orange tank top and shorts on Saturday.
According to court records, Croley was ordered last month to serve up to six months at the facility after violating her probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
Croley is charged with escape and theft, and Clark said there is no reason to believe she has any weapons.
Calls to the U.S. Marshall’s Office and the Eastern Ohio Correction Center on Monday weren’t immediately returned.
