Authorities looking for Youngstown woman who escaped from Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon

The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a Youngstown woman escaped from the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon on Saturday.

According to a Facebook post from the department, officials are looking for Ashley Croley, 37, who is 5-foot-5-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.

Columbiana County court records indicated last month that Croley “was ordered to serve up to six months in the Eastern Ohio Correction Center in Lisbon after violating her probation for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Her probation was continued to Aug. 9, 2024.”

Lisbon police detective Neil Clark said reports indicated Croley walked from Eastern Ohio Correction Center to a nearby East of Chicago Pizza location.

While walking there, Clark said Croley walked near a store employee, who was also walking to the store and told him she “hopped a fence” at the Eastern Ohio Correction Center and changed into an orange tank top and shorts.

When she arrived at the store, Clark said reports indicated Croley stole a Chevy Cobolt blue in color with a license plate No. JLU4699. and ran over the vehicle owner’s foot. Clark said the victim is ok.

Clark said the department first heard of the East of Chicago incident at 5 p.m. and heard from the Eastern Ohio Correction Center shortly after that.

Clark said there is no reason to believe Croley has any weapons.

Officials say she was last observed traveling north on Ohio 45 and is possibly headed to Salem or Youngstown.

Clark said Croley recently has lived in Salem and Youngstown.
