Youngstown teachers, school board to meet Monday on contract talks

The Youngstown Education Association announced plans to meet with the Youngstown Board of Education 8 a.m. Aug. 14 at New Bethel Baptist Church; 1507 Hilman Street in Youngstown.

“We’re hopeful that the Board understands the urgency to get this done so our students can begin the school year with their teachers,” YEA spokesperson Jim Courim said.

The union has set a strike date for Aug. 23 if an agreement can’t be reached.
