Several Mill Creek MetroParks roads to be closed for Panerathon

A few Mill Creek MetroParks roads in downtown Youngstown will be closed on Sunday for the 2023 Panerathon.

The roads will be closed to cars, bicyclists and pedestrians from approximately 8 a.m. until noon for the races.

The closures are:

  • Price Road
  • Price Road entrance of Fellows Riverside Gardens
  • West Glacier Drive
  • West Drive
  • Slippery Rock Bridge
  • Bottom of Birch Hill Drive to West Drive (access to Birch Hill Cabin and Lily Pond from McCollum and Wilkinson)

When is the Panerathon race?

The 10-K race starts Sunday at 10 a.m. and the two-mile begins at 10:05 a.m. Aug. 27. Day-of registration starts at 8 a.m.

Runners can sign up online for the 10-K race or two-mile race as individuals, with friends and even virtually. Kids can run the races for free.

The event starts at the Covelli Centre at 229 E. Front St. in Youngstown.

There’s no parking available at the Covelli Centre. Still, several surface lots and garages are available for race participants within walking distance of the Covelli Centre.
