A Syracuse, N.Y. man faces between six and 12 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing a bit of Star Wars memorabilia from a recent collectible show in Liberty Township.

Gerardo Sanchez, 32, appeared before Judge Sean O’Brien of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday to plead guilty to a fifth-degree theft charge connected to a $2,900 cast-iron Star Wars spaceship figure that was claimed stolen from a man displaying his memorabilia items at a conference that was held at the Metroplex.

Sanchez will be sentenced after a background investigation is conducted by Trumbull County probation officers.

The item stolen was a “TIE bomber” replica from the Star Wars collection, according to a report from Liberty Township police.
