Community members can take advantage of personal training and exercise classes for the first time by working out at the Youngstown State University Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.

Get Rec’d members have access to over 130 pieces of strength and cardio equipment, athletic courts, and tracks in the newly updated and re-branded facility.

How much does a membership for YSU Rec Center cost?

The YSU Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center is offering memberships for anyone in the community starting at $200 per year.

There are two membership types: affiliate and community.

Affiliate memberships are $200 per year and can be purchased by non-students affiliated with the university, including alums, spouses, and ones and contractors.

Community memberships are $300 per year and can be purchased by anyone.

What does a membership include?

With affiliate or community memberships, you can access the recreation center’s indoor track courts for basketball, pickleball, volleyball and badminton courts.

Members can climb the 53-foot indoor rock wall and get advice from personal trainers on staff.

There’s an additional $20-$30 cost for the one-on-one personal training, where you can set fitness goals and ask questions about using equipment properly.

Members can sign up for free Group X fitness classes, including yoga, spin, weight training and aerobics, and participate in special wellness events like yoga with puppies.

Members will also get free locker rooms to store their items safely while working out and accessing showers.

The gym is open from 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
