Support Friends of Fido chili cook-off fundraiser to help Mahoning County dogs
Groups are gearing up to participate in a chili cook-off to raise money for local animals in the Mahoning County Dog Warden.
Who are Friends of Fido?
The Friends Of Fido “Hot Diggity Dog” chili cook-off is happening at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 in downtown Youngstown.
Hosted by Penguin City Brewery, the cook-off is a fundraiser to assist the rescue of dogs in Youngstown.
The funds go toward providing necessary medical, veterinary care and other expenses.
Friends of Fido is a volunteer non-profit organization founded in 2012.
Twenty teams will be cooking their best recipes, and for $10 a ticket, you can participate in tasting tests for each chili entry, and casting your vote for the best chili recipe.
Where can you buy tickets?
Purchase tickets ahead of the event at Mahoning County Dog Warden or at Caliber Graphics.
Find the dog warden at 1230 N Meridian Road and Caliber Graphics at 2901 Vestal Road in Youngstown.
Unsold tickets be available at the door on the day of the event. The event is open to the public even if you do not want to participate in the taste-tests or ballot.
Come out to Penguin City for food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle and basket raffles.
If you’re interested in participating as a team or as a sponsor or if you have any questions, contact Friends of Fido on Facebook or by send an email to friendsoffidomcdp@gmail.com
