Giving Tuesday: Catholic Charities announces events for global day of giving

It’s the season of giving, and the Diocese of Youngstown Catholic Charities is getting ready for their annual outreach and donations campaign.

The 60-day campaign benefits community members in need throughout the six counties overseen by the Diocese of Youngstown.

The holiday campaign asks for donations which will be given back to community members battling housing, food and financial insecurity.

Go online Nov. 28 for the #GivingTuesday virtual fundraiser; organizers aim to collect more than $20,000 in just 24 hours.

All donations will be matched on #GivingTuesday up to $10,000.

There’s a breakfast with the Bishop David J. Bonnar from 8 - 10 a.m. Nov. 28 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish hall.

It’s located at 343 Via Mount Carmel in Youngstown and tickets are $25.

The event will also feature a holiday bake sale, a basket raffle, a perishable goods collection and “Education Stations” highlighting Catholic Charities’ ministries and services.
