WRTA celebrates local organizations with 2023 Holiday Lights campaign

More than 90 local organizations were nominated in hopes of being chosen for the fourth annual Western Reserve Transit Authority Holiday Lights marketing campaign.

Dean Harris, executive director of WRTA, believes the Holiday Lights campaign provides a true picture of the Valley.

“I don’t think most people realize what a good and giving community we live in,” said Harris. “When you travel the country like we do most days, you see the need out there. But you also see how the non-profits and social agencies in the Valley respond to that need. The Holiday Lights Campaign is just WRTA’s way of highlighting the good work they do.”

The chosen organizations for the 2023 Holiday Lights campaign will be honored at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 at Concept Studio in downtown Youngstown.

Throughout December, the 12 organizations will have their logos featured on signs on the sides and back of WRTA buses in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.

Here are the twelve organizations:

  • Action Mahoning Valley Mobile Truck
  • AMYA Marie Foundation
  • Dorothy Day House
  • Healthy Hearts & Paws
  • National Alliance for Mental Illness
  • MOAB House
  • Persayus Way Project
  • Senior Support Action Group
  • Angels for Animals
  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace
  • Thrive Mahoning Valley
  • Veterans Outreach

The organizations are also going to be entered in two drawings for special marketing campaigns provided by sponsors WKBN 27 First News and BOP Social.
