The following cases were handled Thursday before Judge Ronald J. Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Christopher Gembicki, 37, of Vine Street, Girard, pleaded guilty to a fifth-degree felony of vandalism for breaking four first-floor windows in the Trumbull County Courthouse on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023. Gembicki, who could face between six and 12 months in prison, will be sentenced after undergoing a background investigation conducted by probation officers. Judge Rice would only accept the plea deal if Gembicki was willing to submit to a payment plan to take care of the $3,490 in damages done to the courthouse. The case was investigated by the Trumbull County Sheriff’s office whose took the surveillance video showing a man wearing a dark-colored hoodie throwing a rock into a double-paned window several times. A similar courthouse vandalism incident occurred in November 2021.
  • Danny Lee Isom Jr., 41, of Youngstown, was arraigned on a second-degree felonious assault charge connected to an Aug. 25, 2023, shooting in the city of Warren. After consulting Isom’s previous criminal history, Judge Rice ordered Isom be held without bond because he poses a substantial risk of serious physical harm to the community at large. According to court records, the victim in the shooting was a 44-year-old Campbell man. Before the hearing, Isom had been free after posting a $15,000 bond in Warren Municipal Court. Isom was indicted by a Trumbull grand jury on Nov. 29.
