Studio Oxygen hosts record-breaking class
The team at Studio Oxygen in Poland hosted 120 participants for Christmas Eve yoga lesson at a record-breaking class.
Emily Ramm, senior studio coordinator and social media manager at Studio Oxygen said this class showcased the power of community.
“This momentous occasion showcased the power of community and the dedication towards holistic well-being, bringing a harmonious blend of yoga, friendship, and festive vibes to our wonderful attendees,” said Ramm. “We believe that fostering well-being, especially during this time of the year, is a beautiful way to create lasting memories and cultivate a sense of togetherness.”
There are two Studio Oxygen locations in the area, in Poland and in Canfield, that have been open since 2006.
Classes offered throughout the week include yoga, cycling, bodhi and barre; they also have boutiques selling brands like Lululemon, Free People, and Alo.
There’s a free monthly class on Sunday evenings throughout the year. Visit the Studio Oxygen social media pages for class schedules and special events.
Project MKC sponsors 140 families for Adopt-A-Family campaign
Earlier this month, we shared information about a donation of new tennis shoes to every student at Volney Rogers Elementary School, provided by Project MKC and Samaritan’s Feet.
Volunteers like Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown even helped tie the laces for each student to ensure their new shoes fit right.
Project MKC serves families and children throughout the year. Still, during the holiday season their efforts are elevated to a new level of service.
Through the annual Holiday Adopt-a-Family program, Project MKC organizers and volunteers were able to sponsor 147 families.
This meant Project MKC provided 294 bags of groceries to local families for holiday dinners.
They also ensured that 465 local children got a Christmas present.
Organizations like Rulli Brothers grocery store in Austintown helped deliver food to Project MKC and volunteers from the community-sponsored families.
According to Project MKC, PetSmart donated enough stuffed animals to give to every child in the sponsorship program.
Community members also donated hundreds of new toys for Project MKC’s toy drive.
According to Project MKC, the toy drive is in honor of a local boy named Jameson Vandergrift, who died when he was two.
Project MKC said his parents wanted to keep his memory alive by giving local children gifts in his name.
The community donated hundreds of items on Dec. 12 during the collection drive at Memorial Baptist Church in Poland.
The items were then provided to Making Kids Count and other agencies for children in their programs whose families don’t have the means to purchase new items for Christmas.
“Thank you so much for your continued love and support of Project MKC. Sending all of our love to your family during this holiday season,” Project MKC wrote online. “So many children will be blessed with holiday gifts because of your love and generosity.”
