A new pair of tennis shoes was given to every single student at the school, a total of 350 pairs.

Project MKC brought the shoes to school this week to be distributed.

Project MKC is a Boardman-based charity helping northeast Ohio families; their mission is assisting “families who may need a helping hand” with gifts, groceries and community events throughout the year.

The shoes were donated to Volney Rogers through a partnership with Samaritan’s Feet and Coca-Cola Consolidated.

Volunteers with Youngstown Simon Roofing, Project MKC and Youngstown’s Mayor Jamael Tito Brown helped the students try on their new shoes.
