A group of concerned citizens helped police locate a man attempting to make unlawful sexual conduct with minors, according to police in Hubbard.

The Hubbard Police Department arrested 44-year-old Jonathan B. Bellow for “alleged involvement in soliciting minors for sexual acts.”

Bellow was tracked down by the concerned citizen group for these accusations.

The Hubbard Police Department said Bellow faces charges related to attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and importuning; both of these charges are fifth-degree felonies.

“The diligent work of both the citizen group and law enforcement highlights the importance of community involvement in ensuring the safety of our children,” wrote Detective Sergeant Michael Banic on Facebook. “The Hubbard Police Department commends the citizens who contributed to this operation and encourages ongoing collaboration to safeguard our community. The arrest sends a strong message that such criminal behavior will not be tolerated, and those who exploit minors will be held accountable.”

Anyone with additional information related to this case or other potential predators to come forward and contact the Trumbull County Dispatch Center at (330) 675-2730.
