Youngstown police officers responded to a call reporting damage to a home caused by gunfire on Jan. 13 on Hollywood Avenue in Youngstown.

Reports say it’s not the first time they’ve investigated the area for a shooter targeting a house.

One of the police officers who responded recalled in his report that they’d responded to the same location in December after the home had been hit by multiple rounds of gunfire.

During that first investigation, reports say police officers collected shell casings from the intersection of Hollywood Avenue and Erie Street.

On Jan. 13, the homeowner told police his “home was again struck by gunfire” while there were three adults and several children inside.

None of the occupants were harmed by the gunfire.

The officers saw “the glass in the front storm door was shattered,” according to reports.

Police also looked at surveillance videos provided by the homeowner that showed what happened and who fired at the house:

“In the video, you see a person come down the street on a bicycle...It appeared that they had some sort of light on their person or the bike, or it could have been a reflector on the bike that was visible. You could also see what appeared to be a muzzle flash when they passed by the house before disappearing from camera view.”

YPD officers collected five spent shell casings from a .9mm gun as evidence, according to reports.
