Six months added to Youngstown man’s prison term on weapons charges

The following cases were handled Thursday before Judge Ronald J. Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Raymon T. Taylor, 55, of East Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted having weapons while under disability and carrying concealed weapons, a pair of fourth-degree felonies. Taylor, who is serving a 33- to 45-month prison sentence for Mahoning County convictions of felonious assault, failure to comply, having weapons under disability and possession of drugs, had six more months added to his prison term because of the latest conviction. The Trumbull County case involved a Nov. 11, 2022 traffic stop in Liberty Township where a 22-caliber revolver was found in Taylor’s vehicle, prosecutors said. As part of the plea deal, Taylor agreed to forfeit possession of the weapon. According to prison records, Taylor, who is incarcerated at Noble Correctional Institution, will now be released on July 31, 2027.
  • Melissa Mack, 36, of Larchmont Avenue NE, Warren, pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs and was given a six month prison sentence. That sentence will be served concurrently to a six-month sentence Mack received for a conviction of possession of cocaine. The cocaine case was a result of a April 22, 2023 arrest by Niles police, while the other drug case occurred when Howland police found methamphetamine on Mack’s person on June 7, 2023.
  • Darvon Hines, 34, of Warren, admitted to a probation violation to a 2018 conviction for a weapons charge and received a three-month prison sentence that will be served consecutively to a nine-month prison sentence Hines received earlier this week from Judge Andrew Logan for a conviction of a third-degree attempted felonious assault felony and domestic violence misdemeanor.
