Officers with the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force and Youngstown Police Department confiscated a bulletproof vest, ammunition and a gun from a house in Youngstown.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Cleveland Street on the south side of Youngstown.

The two law enforcement agencies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant for someone allegedly wanted for cocaine trafficking at the residence, according to YPD.

Reports say the officers got to the house on Cleveland Street on the south side but no one answered the door.

YPD obtained a search warrant for the house which was signed by Youngstown Municipal Court Judge Carla Baldwin.

Inside the house, reports say police officers found several items that they confiscated as evidence, including a black Jennings .221 pistol and several boxes of different types of ammunition.

YPD reports also say they found a blue bullet-proof vest and a white sock that had live ammunition inside.

Other items were listed in the police report, including a “silver digital scale with white residue,” a “Tacklife money counter” and different containers with what YPD reports suspected was cocaine.

Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force handled the evidence, according to reports.
