The following cases were handled Tuesday before Judge Andrew D. Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:

  • Kenyanna Pennock, 37, of Warren, was given a 15-year to life prison sentence for convictions of murder, felonious assault and reckless homicide charges. On Jan. 18, 2024, Pennock was found guilty by a Trumbull County jury following a two-day trial. She was responsible for the death of Jesare’e Harris, 36, outside of a Parkman road nightspot. Testimony showed that Harris suffered major head injuries and died after traveling on the hood of Pennock’s Dodge Dart for about half a mile along Parkman Road at speeds averaging about 50 mph. Judge Logan said the high speeds showed high disregard for the safety of the victim. Speaking on behalf of the victim was her mother waho told the judge the woman’s death has been devastating to the lives of her family. Pennock must serve 15 years in prison before her first parole eligibility.
  • Harold W. Bennett, 72, of Weathersfield, was given a five-year high-risk probation, beginning with a 180-day electronically monitored house arrest. Bennet, a disabled veteran, had pleaded guilty in December to five counts of second-degree pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and two counts of fourth-degree pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Bennett must continue his mental health counseling with the Veterans Administration and have no internet access nor have contact with any minor females. He was labeled a Tier 2 sex offender which requires him to register his address twice per year with the sheriff’s office for the next 25 years. The case was based on a tip made to the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and involved Bennett posing sexually explicit images of children as young as three months being forced to commit sex acts. The crimes occurred from about January 2019 to June 2023, the report stated.
