It’s the last day to vote for a local Mahoning Valley police K-9 in an online contest to become America’s Favorite Pet.

Simon is a City of Salem Police Department K-9 who’s a front-runner to win America’s Favorite Pet and a $10,000 prize.

If he wins, Simon will also be featured on the cover of “Modern Dog.”

He was the only police K-9 from Ohio who made the top 20 for the online contest.

As of Wednesday afternoon, he’s leading in first place for his group.

The poll is open until 7 p.m. on Feb. 22.
