Trumbull County authorities investigate reports of woman who was shot in the face

Trumbull County authorities are investigating the shooting of a woman in the face which occurred sometime Feb. 28, according to 911 reports.

Weathersfield police, at about 10:15 p.m., responded to a traffic crash between a Kia Soul and a Chevy Cobalt at the intersection of Niles Carver Road and Salt Springs Road. One victim, identified as a 34-year-old Youngstown woman, told police officers she was shot in the face – unrelated to the traffic accident. She believed it happened in either the city of Warren or Warren Township near the area of the steel mills, the report stated.

The woman told officers the shooter was riding in a white SUV possibly a Jeep, but she did not give a description of the suspect.. The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment, the report stated. No condition report for her was given.

Police reportedly checked the area, but no arrests have been made, the report states.
